Let’s face it, I’m a geek. A pretty big one at that. Running blogs as well as an online business obviously means I rely on my computer a lot. It’s a life-line which enables me to do what I do. Not to mention the looming prospect of University coursework soon and simply the bulky 3-year-old Sony Vaio just won’t cut it as my portable computing device. I’m on the hunt for a decent laptop, at a decent price and most importantly, with the specs to satisfy the geek in me who needs something where I can do everything no matter where I am.
Often it is a real struggle to find the perfect laptop for you. Nothing is quite right, it has your ideal spec, but terrible battery life or its got the battery life but a but looks like a McDonald’s kids toy. what’s worse is when the sites you use don’t have full and detailed information on all devices, making it extremely hard to do side-by-side comparisons. That is until I came across the Laptops on Misco.co.uk and I can genuinely say I am extremely impressed with the excellent consistency in how they display their product information.
All seem to have the same information meaning you can easily do side-by-side comparisons. Another massive step up from every other online retailer is they have taken the time to provide photographs for all parts of their laptops, something which many seem to see as an after-thought but vital when spending £500+ on a Laptop I’ll be using for years.
I currently have my eye on the HP ProBook 4530 (right pic) which certainly seems to check all my boxes! – What this space for the review…

I’m constantly browsing the wonderful world of the Internet and finding cool, interesting, amazing or just plain stupid things. However I only really share these things with a few people so I thought why not start a new section where I can share all of these with you and so this new weekly section was born. From now on every week probably on a Wednesday I’ll make a new post for you to hopefully enjoy so here goes nothing.
Firstly something which I only discovered recently and you may know about “The Slow Mo Guys”. They take the coolness of slow motion and add the immaturity of 22 year olds which equals some amazing and hilarious outcomes. It’s not just messing around either they also do truly beautiful work one of which involved droplets of coloured water and milk. Check out the video below and their Youtube channel for more.
Next comes a website that was introduced by fellow blogger @dansgalaxy, it’s called Empire Avenue and this website allows you to buy virtual shares in your friends and anyone/anything else on the website with the idea being to buy and sell shares and try to maximise your net worth and it’s not everyday you can say own shares in your friends. I own just over 3% of Dan and I plan to own most of him someday so get yourself registered buy some shares and increase your net worth. Also feel free to buy some shares in me.
Now from slow mo to shares in friends I now bring you one of my friends who has an amazing voice which I wish to share with you, her name is Emily Stoneham and while she does have twitter(@trammpp) it hasn’t been updated since January however if you bug her she might start using it more. Please check out her video below and if you like it check out more on her channel(ELMOisaROCKSTAR) and leave her a few comments.
Finally comes something for anyone who loves Doctor Who which should be everyone reading this. There is a new product ready to Pre-Order now, officially licenced by the BBC comes a replica of the 11th Doctors Jacket. The good news is it’s awesome, the bad news its just shy of £325. Yeah, I know. You best start saving now for when this starts selling on the 23rd October but you do get a high quality jacket and its sure to impress a lot of your friends. Assuming your friends are geeks anyway. If you are interested of just want to see more of it check out Forbidden Planet now.
That’s it for this week, I hope you enjoyed this new section let me know what you think in a comment, tweet @ me or Email me and if you have anything you feel should be mentioned next week then also leave a comment, tweet @ me or Email me .
